As
the name suggests, this site provides access to records of births,
marriages and deaths but free. This site is still 'work-in-progress'
and some searches will come back blank, but their efforts are much
appreciated.
This site is
is run by Bassetlaw District Council, which covers North
Nottinghamshire, and includes the two market towns of Retford and
Worksop. The site includes the "Welchman Archive" a
photographic collection containing over 27,000 photographs of the
towns and villages of North Nottinghamshire from about 1870 to the
present day.
This site houses 75 years of British
history in the form of news reels. Lower quality clips are available for
free download, or you can put your hand in your pocket for the good stuff.
An excellent site and well worth a visit.
